Forum Software

Hey!

I would like to suggest that we change the forum software from Phpbb3 to VBulletin or to IPB. This change would benefit the forums look and feel since it will gave it a more professional look. I'm personaly interested in VBulletin so I'll list some benefits bellow:

• Prefix (a.k.a "crown before the username")
  
• Subscriptions (be able to buy membership directly from the forum)
  
• Donations (donate directly from the forum)
  
• More professional look (awesome themes, easy to edit)
  
• Better add-ons (hide url from quest, hide content untill user replys to topic...)
  

I know that some of you guys will say that VBulletin is not free, but before you can say it: I CAN and I WILL provide VBulletin v3.8.0 and some of the above mentioned add-ons if you choose to change the software. However I cannot provide IPB software (tried it a milion times, but failed to get it).

So, tell me what do you guys think?

You guys will loose posts, but if PicoScape is an long term project it's worth it don't you think so?

Since everyone is so quiet about this, I'll bump with slightly different suggestion.
We stay on phpbb3 (found mod that allows to add crowns), but we leave this free hosting service WHEN PicoScape goes out of beta. It would be like a fresh start, meanwhile that you guys are working on PicoScape I would be working on new forum. I could even try to replace your post counts.
Forum would be hosted on my domain (PicoScape.svizy.net) or it can be hosted by Pico (PicoScape.net/forum/), but then to install the forum and to be able to fully maintain it I would need an F2P access (unless Pico installs it and gives me full access to the forum, whic would be also great and more secure)

So what do you think guys?

LiteBulliteen is free, and it's almost just like VB.
Also, we cannot add crowns beside our names, as I have explained before. We need phpBB2, instead of phpBB3. For some reason we can't edit the Templates in the ACP. I looked on some threads, and they said because it's a newer version. I would really like to have VB or LB. On either one of those we could have Custom Title Changes, and etc. We do need a domain for VB though, if not we could get our site closed.
